Kanye West‘s importance in pop culture has enabled him to influence all facets of media including the fictional world. Few will forget West’s first appropriation in the cartoon world courtesy of South Park, but he then went on to appear on Seth MacFarlane’s The Cleveland Show with a second cameo in the works. VANS is a brand that is undoubtedly deeply rooted in skateboarding, yet since the company’s establishment in the late 60′s they had not made any official skateboard decks. The irony is a little surprising but that is all about to change. A skateboard division, Pacific Coast Highway, of Japanese apparel label Jackson Matisse took the matters into their own hands by creating the first ever skateboard deck with VANS. The deck is made at the same factory which produces the popular Zip Zinger skateboards and it features the same concave and shaping as the Zip Zinger. Delivery set for around mid July.
Mattel is taking pre-orders from March 1st through March 20th, with delivery scheduled for November or December 2012. A 1:1 a “movie accurate” replica hoverboard that even includes the hole that was left when Marty ripped out the handlebar pole. While it won’t actually hover, it’s said to “glide” over most surfaces.
